Day One

We head for Park Lane for our first stop of the trip to the city, You will have free time to do as you please! Perhaps go and see some of the iconic sights, or hit the world-famous shops on Oxford Street! The choice is yours! early evening we rejoin the coach and travel to our city hotel to check in.

Day Two

After Breakfast, we Join award-winning historian Neil R. Storey as he guides you around the spy, espionage and secret sites in wartime central London. From Nazi spy headquarters that operated in the shadow of Parliament and MI5 home security offices to the heart of Britain’s military leadership in Whitehall and the Churchill War Rooms. The places we shall see above and below the streets of London were where Britain’s Home Front leaders faced up to our country’s darkest hours and where decisions were made that would prove key to whether the Second World War would be won or lost by the Allies. Neil R. Storey is a respected military historian and an expert on Nazi spies and counter-espionage in Britain during the Second World War. His groundbreaking book Beating the Nazi Invader: Hitler’s Spies, Saboteurs and Secrets in Britain 1940 was featured in The TimesDaily Mail and on BBC News. His much anticipated follow-up volume Nazi Spies and Collaborators in Britain 1939-1945 is due for publication in 2023. Neil lectures all over Britain and frequently appears as guest expert on factual television programmes including Who Do You Think You Are? and The Buildings That Fought Hitler. we then finish the day off at the Secret underground bunker. Housing the underground nerve centre where the British government directed the Second World War and the award-winning Churchill Museum, Churchill War Rooms is one of London’s must-see attractions. Walk the top-secret corridors of Churchill War Rooms and glimpse what life would have been like during the tense days and nights of the Second World War. Find out about Churchill’s remarkable 90-year life, leadership and legacy, from his lonely childhood to his military career, two periods as Prime Minister and beyond in the interactive Churchill Museum.
